As I have been putting my feet to the pavement on reenergizing my blog I have joined a few blogging groups on facebook (which I highly recommend). One of them, in particular have quite a few people who are still in the researching stage and have yet to start a blog. I have found that many of them are either stuck in indecision or frozen in fear. So take a moment to ask yourself:

What am I Waiting For?

  1. Indecision: Is it the grip of indecision that holds you back from hitting the launch button? Which theme will make or break my blog? Should I buy my domain to begin with or wait? Do I focus on SEO optimization or content? indecision

After I’ve been working on a blog for almost two years and more recently researching how to strengthen it to be a consistent place for readers, I have come to realize an important point. You will not have 1000s of readers at first, whatever choices you make to begin with can and probably will change. Good news, that’s ok! As you learn and grow you will find that your audience fluctuates and as you narrow your focus and provide more content your readers will come to know your writing and will be loyal.

2. Fear: Is Fear holding you back? Fear of not writing well, fear of what people will think or maybe a fear of failure?

It takes real courage to pujack canfield feart yourself out there and start blogging. Many people develop their voice over time as they write their blog and asking friends and family to give you feedback always and start blogging. Many people develop their voice over time as they write their blog and asking friends and family to give you feedback always helps too. Although if you are afraid of what your friends and family may think of it I highly suggest the resource I mentioned above and become a part of a blogging group. I have had great interactions with many people there and they give really good insight.

If you struggle with a fear of failure I recommend going easy on yourself. If your expectations are unrealistic you may feel like you are failing when you have barely just begun. Most bloggers start blogging because they enjoy writing, so enjoy writing! Don’t start off worrying about all the stats and design elements. Learn as you go and have fun with it!

There are probably many more reasons people struggle to hit the launch button or give up before they really even start, but I encourage you to not give up. You can always make it private again if you feel like you need to.

Plus it’s probably going to be awesome, so go ahead and hit Launch and the tell me all about it!!
